Joe Bretherton : « Getting the club back to Super League »
Joe Bretherton, Toulouse multi-skilled forward, talks about the big victory against Keighley and looks ahead to the match against York.
Joe, can you introduce yourself?
I am Joe Bretherton, I am 27 and come from England.
A victory 64 a 0 versus Keighley what do you remember from this magnificent demonstration collectively and individually?
I thought it was a good performance as a team, we followed our game plan both offensively and defensively for the full game. From an individual perspective it was nice to get back on the score sheet.
What do you think of your season and what position do you prefer to play in the pack?
This season I think we have had some very good performances against some good teams and have shown we have the capability to get back to super league. But we need to improve on our away games. I prefer to play in the 2nd row position, but I’m happy to play where the team needs me the most weather that is prop or loose forward, I keep asking Sylvain to let me play half back but he’s not to convinced (laughs).
Next weekend York, what will be the key to win them?
I think the key against York will be completing our sets and respecting the ball. We know they are a tough team to play and like to get into an arm wrestle so we need to be ready to take the opportunities in attack and we will prepare ourselves for that in training this week.
For you, what would a successful season look like?
A successful season for us is getting the club back to Super League.
