Stuart Mason, new Lezignan player, talks about his choice to join the Meuniers and his ambitions for the next season.
Stuart, can you introduce yourself ?
Hi, my name is Stuart Mason, I’m from Sydney, NSW. I’m a school teacher and play rugby league.
Why did you choose to leave Australia to play in Lezignan in Elite 1?
I want to test myself in another high level competition whilst experiencing a new country and culture.
Did you follow the Elite 1 Championship before coming?
Yes I’ve followed it for a while now with lots of friends playing over the last few years across different teams. It’s always been a goal to come and play in this competition.
From watching the highlights, it’s clear that you have impressive speed despite your weight and size. What other qualities do you bring to the game?
I like to think that I can get through a lot of hard work and play big minutes whilst being a big body and a physical presence on the field. I like to bring energy, moral and a positive vibe to the teammates both on and off the field.
What are your ambitions for next season?
WIN! I will look to make an immediate impact on the field and bring use my skill and experience to contribute to winning games.
