Jye Ballinger : « Albi, a great opportunity »
Few hours after signing with Albi, we have met Jye Ballinger, an Australian player coming from the Intrust Super Cup.
Jye, can you quickly present yourself ?
My name is Jye Ballinger and I’m from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. For the last 6 seasons I’ve been playing for Sunshine Coast Falcons which is a feeder club to the NRL Melbourne Storm.
You played Trials with the Storm, what did you learn from theses games?
I got an opportunity to trial with the Melbourne Storm at the start of the year. What I learnt from the experience was that you have to make the most of the opportunities you are given and enjoy every moment and give it your all.
Why did you choose to come in France to play Rugby ? And why Albi ?
I chose to come over to France to play for the Albi Tigers because I feel like it is a great opportunity to go and challenge myself on a new platform and experience playing the sport I love in a different environment ! I’ve also heard a lot of very good things about Albi as a place and as a rugby league club and look forward to getting over there.
What will be your goals for this season ?
My goals for the season are to test myself on a new stage and do my job to help Albi win the competition.
Are you still dreaming of playing in NRL ? Or Super League maybe ?
I would love to play in either the NRL or Super League and will do whatever it takes to get there. Hopefully by having a good season with the Albi Tigers I can better my chances of going to the next level.
