Jacob Afflick, new player for Villefranche XIII, talks about his choice to join the Wolves and his ambitions for the next season.
Jacob, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Jacob Afflick, I’m 27 years old, and I come from Newcastle, Australia, a small town 2 hours from Sydney.
Why do you leave Australia to play in Villefranche in Elite 2?
I come to France to challenge myself and to win the Elite 2 competition and promote the Wolves into the Elite 1 competition.
Did you follow the Elite 2 championship before you come?
Yes I followed the Elite 2 competition from afar.
You can play fullback or winger, what do you prefer?
I prefer to play fullback, although I’m happy to do a job on the wing if that is what the team needs!
What are your ambitions for next season?
Ambitions for next year are to see Villefranche wolves promoted into the Elite 1 competition and hopefully return and push to win that championship as well.
