Connor O’Beirne : « A successful season would be to win the championship and the Cup »
Connor O’Beirne, five-eighth of Carcassonne XIII, reflects on the victory in the French Cup semi-final against Avignon and talks about the end of the season.
Connor, can you introduce yourself ?
Hello, I am Connor O’Beirne from the central coast in Australia, and I’m 26 years old.
From the stands, how did you find your team against Avignon?
It was tough to watch from the stands on Sunday, but I think our side was excellent in the second half. Our middle was very strong and I thought Clement Herrero controlled the game for us in the win.
How to beat Albi in the final in two weeks?
For us, we just need to not beat ourselves by limiting errors and completing sets. Albi is a very strong side with big and fast middle forwards.
How do you feel in your team?
It took a little bit getting used to my team but I think the back end of this year we have all clicked and worked well together. We will be very hard to beat in the upcoming finals.
What would a successful season look like to you?
A successful season would be to win the championship and the Cup. Anything less would be disappointing with how strong our team is this year.
