Australian prop Ben Shea talks about his return to Albi and discusses his goals with the Tigers for the upcoming Elite 1 season.
Ben, can you introduction yourself ?
I am Ben Shea. Currently living in Wynnum, Qld, Australia. I have a wife and two children.
Why you come back in Elite 1 and in Albi ?
I played at Albi in 2020-2021, we loved the city and the people. I was meant to return in 2021-2022 but Covid restrictions, personal and professional reasons prevented it. The opportunity presented itself again and I could not say no.
Did you follow the elite 1 championship and the results of Albi ?
I have followed the elite 1 closely and supported Albi while in Australia. Albi has had some successful seasons and elite 1 is very strong, it is great to see.
What do you think you bring to your team?
Albi has built a great team over the last few years with very good players and coaching. Hopefully I can add to that with my experience and leadership on and off the field.
What are your ambitions for next year ?
The overall ambition is the same for every player, to win the championship, but it starts with the smaller processes. My plan is to arrive in good condition, earn a spot in the team, play to the best of my ability and contribute all I can for the team. When this is done, the results will take care of themselves.
