Pone Tongia : « Je suis impatient de relever ce défi »
Pone Tongia, nouvelle recrue de Lézignan, évoque son retour dans le championnat français avec les Meuniers.
Pone, peux-tu te présenter ?
Je m’appelle Pone Tongia. J’ai 26 ans. Je suis né aux Tonga et j’ai déménagé en Nouvelle-Zélande quand j’avais 12 ans.
Comment le contact s’est-il fait avec Lézignan ?
Le contact avec Lézignan s’est fait par l’intermédiaire de Cyril Cabrol. J’ai rencontré Cyril il y a trois ans quand j’étais en France. Il m’a recontacté et m’a dit que Lézignan était intéressé pour me recruter.
Que penses-tu du niveau du Super XIII ?
Je suis très enthousiaste et j’ai hâte de jouer dans le championnat. Pour être honnête, je suis impatient de relever ce défi.
Tu as joué au VARL il y a quelques années. Quels souvenirs gardes-tu de cette période ?
C’est un super club, très familial. J’y ai rencontré des amis pour la vie, avec qui je suis toujours en contact aujourd’hui.
Pone, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Pone Tongia. I’m 26 years old. I was born in Tonga and moved to New Zealand when I was 12 years old.
How did the contact with Lezignan happen?
The contact with Lezignan came through Cyril Cabrol. I met Cyril three years ago when I was in France. He reached out and told me that Lezignan was interested in signing me.
What do you think of the Super XIII level?
I’m very excited and looking forward to playing in the Super XIII. To be honest, I can’t wait for the challenge.
You played with VARL a few years ago. What memories do you have from that time?
They are a great club and also a very family-oriented one. I made some lifelong friends there, and I’m still in contact with them today.
