Daniel Beasley : « I had to change my game a fair bit »
After a good first season in France, we have met Daniel Beasley, prop of Albi Tigers, to speak about it and his future.
Daniel, can you quickly present yourself ?
Daniel Beasley, 26 years old Australian, playing front row/lock for the Albi tigers
What do you think about the season of Albi this year ?
It was a bit of a disappointing one, we started well but after a player shuffle lost our way a bit and never regathered. We put ourself in a position to win most games and just couldn’t ceil them. So the effort can’t be faulted but it definitely hurt to come up just short so many times.
And about your personal season ? Was a good one ?
No, this season was slightly frustrating one for myself, the way the game is officiated meant I had to change my game a fair bit as a result I feel performance suffered as I tried to adapt to the french game.
What do you think about the level of Elite 1 ?
There are definitely some quality players getting around in the competition and I felt st estive were a class above this year.
What are differencies in trainning between France and Australie if we speak about state of mind ?
Obviously a lot of players in the queensland cup are trying to progress into the NRL as a result the professionalism and competitive nature with in the training environment are quite different.
Do you like your France and your life here ?
France has been a great time, I met some wonderful people, experienced a different culture and got to travel, what more could you want?!
Are you going to continue with Albi next year ?
It’s definitely a possibility but at this stage I am weighing my options with my family.
