Clint Greenshields : « I am waiting for a call to come back »
We’ve met Clint Greenshields as he talks about international rugby league, the NRL and of course the Catalans Dragons.
Clint, what are you doing at the moment ?
I finished my degree in exercise science and I own my own gym. I work mostly with people who have back pain.
Tonga beat Australia for the first time a couple of months ago, what does that inspire to you about rugby league ?
Australia has been the dominant force for many years. It’s nice to see Tonga play well and inspire many young Tongan players.
NRL is about to begin, what are your favorites and why ?
Roosters are always my favourite with Trent coaching.
Last year there was the Nine World Cup and the NRL Nine was two weeks ago. What do you think about this new game ?
9s are fantastic to watch and I love the new move to expand rugby league. I hope there is more competitions in local areas.
What is your best and worst memory with the Catalans Dragons ?
Best memories are playing at home with big crowds, playing with Thomas and scoring a try after the bell against London. Also Wembley was great too.
Worst was breaking my leg and having a bad year in 2010.
James Maloney, Sam Tomkins, Sam Kasiano, Israel Folau… what do you think about this Catalans side ? Can they win the SL ?
The Catalans have the side to win the comp for sure. They need to keep the main team on the park and they are a big chance. Great team.
You talked about maybe joining the Catalans staff, is it still in your future plans ? What can you bring to the club ?
Yes I am waiting for a call to come back and coach with the team there. I have a young family and I want them to grow up speaking french and I also know I can help develop rugby league in France. I still speak good french and believe I am a great coach. I’m very excited to come back.
